전직 이스라엘 정보기관 출신의 Yigal Carmon 대표가 대한민국의 조기대선에 관한 경고의 성명을 발표했습니다.

"대한민국의 미래는 내일 결정된다 – 자유국가로 남을 것인가, 아니면 공산 중국의 위성국이 될 것인가"

2025년 총선을 하루 앞둔 6월 3일, 이스라엘 정보장교 출신으로 중동미디어연구소(MEMRI) 소장을 맡고 있는 야이갈 카르몬(Yigal Carmon)이 대한민국 선거에 대해 입장을 밝혔다.

카르몬은 “내일 치러지는 총선은 대한민국이 자유국가로 존속할지, 아니면 공산 중국의 영향력 아래 놓일지를 결정짓는 중대한 기로”라고 강조했다.

그는 “이재명 더불어민주당 후보는 정치 경력 전반에 걸쳐 친북‧친중 노선을 유지해왔다”며 “공개된 정보에 따르면, 이 후보는 북한 정권과 중국 정부의 이해관계에 지속적으로 부합하는 행보를 보여 왔다”고 지적했다.

실제로 중국 관영매체 *환구시보(Global Times)*는 이재명을 ‘중국의 친구’로 표현하며 그의 당선을 기대하는 보도를 내보낸 바 있다. 카르몬은 “베이징은 이재명의 승리를 원하고 있으며, 그의 친중 성향은 대한민국의 민주주의를 위협할 뿐만 아니라 한미동맹에도 중대한 리스크가 된다”고 경고했다.

야이갈 카르몬은 이스라엘 군 정보국 출신 대령으로, 이스라엘 총리 두 명의 대테러 특별보좌관을 역임한 안보전문가다. 현재 예루살렘에 본부를 둔 MEMRI를 통해 글로벌 이슈에 대한 분석을 제공하고 있다.

“Tomorrow, South Korea is heading to polls for crucial elections, in which the future of South Korea will be decided: Will South Korea remain free or will it become Communist China satellite? Throughout his political career, Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party candidate, has consistently aligned himself with both pro-North Korean and pro-Chinese agendas. Open sources confirm it. Moreover, Chinese state-run media, such as Global Times, portray Lee Jae-myung as China’s friend. Beijing wants him to win. Lee Jae-myung’s ties to China will endanger South Korea’s democracy and, consequently, will put at risk the ROK-US alliance.”

Yigal Carmon, founder and President of the think tank MEMRI. Carmon was a colonel in the Israeli military intelligence service, and was advisor on countering terrorism to two Israeli prime ministers. Carmon is based in Jerusalem.
